Office Notes for October 18, 2017
SCHOOL MESSENGER TEST: This Friday, October 20, there will be a test broadcast sent out via School Messenger. Holy Trinity School uses this software to alert parents of school closings because of weather events or emergencies. If you do not receive an email or text from Holy Trinity, please contact the office to opt in.
ALGEBRA I MEETING: Parents of students in Algebra 1, there will be a mandatory meeting with your child on Monday, October 23rd, at 4:00 pm in the Technology Room.
TECHNOLOGY: The Computer/Technology course is now a graded subject for grades 6, 7, & 8.
ANYONE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING AT HOLY TRINITY: If you are interested in volunteering for field trips, in classrooms, at lunch or recess, or even in the office, you are required by school policy to complete a volunteer 3-step program. You can get all the information you need by going online to: catholicnh.org/volunteer and following the instructions provided. The Shield the Vulnerable video that must be viewed in order to become a volunteer will only be available until October 29, 2017. It is being replaced but the timeline is still unknown. So, I encourage anyone who wants to go on any field trips with their children to take this course now before it is unavailable!!!! No parent will be allowed to go on a field trip without having completed the volunteer 3-step program. If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Corriveau, Safe Environment Coordinator at email@example.com.
VOLUNTEER FORMS: Please don’t forget your Volunteer Form! We are grateful for whatever ways you are able to assist our school in a volunteer capacity. Click to download the form, or request one from the office. Thank you!
BAKE SALE: There will be a Bake Sale on Tuesday, October 24th, during student lunches. All items are $1.00. Proceeds will defer the cost of the field trip for grades 2-6 to go to the Boston Science Museum. All donations of baked goods would be greatly appreciated and may be brought into school on Monday and Tuesday morning.
SHOEBOX RECYCLING: The Eighth Grade Class will once again be sponsoring a Shoe Drive from October 23 – November 3. Students are asked to bring in pre- worn shoes in good condition to their homerooms during these two weeks. We will box the shoes and send them to Community Recycling where they will be distributed to needy people throughout the world, including the US. Because of the recent natural disasters, the need is greater than ever!
Both adult and children’s shoes of all kinds are needed, especially sneakers and cleats. However, they do not accept slippers, winter or dress boots, roller blades or plastic shoes of any kind.
The homeroom that brings in the most shoes on average per student will receive a Pizza Party and a free Jean Day! So clean out those closets and bring in shoes! Encourage your friends to donate too!
