The Grapevine Newsletter 12.18.19

Dear Holy Trinity Families,

Merry Christmas and Blessings to your Families as we finish 2019 and enter 2020 full of faith, hope, and love!

This is our final Grapevine for the year and of the decade! I would like to take a moment to thank the many people who work tirelessly for our wonderful school community. First, I would like to invite you to gather together this Thursday evening in the SAB parish hall for a 6 PM celebration of our Savior’s birth for an outstanding performance by our scholars. We will sing, celebrate, and probably dance a little while we share the glorious miracle! Of coursen, no proper birthday celebration would be complete without cake, juice, and coffee. We look forward to seeing all of you and sharing this wonderful evening together.

As I shared last year in my Christmas message, I am greatly humbled by the trust placed in me as the principal of Holy Trinity. There are challenges, sure, but the love that flows through our halls and envelopes our classrooms, students, teachers, and families touches my heart in the most profound way. Our community and scholars distinguish Holy Trinityfrom other schools. . The feeling of community that exists within our school walls draw inspiration and add new dimensions to the vocation of teaching. Honestly, being a part of Holy Trinity is my privilege. A privilege to get to know parents and families on a personal level, a privilege to work, pray, and laugh
with our scholars, and a privilege to be a member of the Holy Trinity family. It’s a blessing and a privilege to work
alongside a truly inspirational staff whose dedication and support of one another astounds and motivates me-motivation to do my best every day in spite of the challenges and hurdles that often complicate the day –this
impact can’t be measured or quantified. Holy Trinity has a deeply committed staff who go well above and beyond their responsibilities to ensure our scholars are given the best opportunities possible.

Thank you to our Consultative School Board, Endowment Trust, and PTO. Your backing and support is greatly appreciated and the love you share for Holy Trinity seeps into the community in a million little ways.

Thank you especially to our scholars. You are the heart and soul of our school and are the reason we do what we do. It has been lovely to see the growth and maturity of all students across the school. Witnessing our students learning and interacting the way they do is a testament to their keenness and desire to learn. Remember NO ONE can take away what you learn each day because it is in here (point to my head). NO ONE can take away the kindness you share, because it is in here (I am pointing to my heart). If you combine your education with special values, you have a good combination for a successful childhood leading into adulthood. Keep working hard at all these we are all very proud of achievements, especially your parents. And finally, thank you to Fr. Marc Drouin who continues to fulfill his role with love, compassion and dedication and we are forever grateful for his support and pastoral guidance.

Merry Christmas everyone and may Christ’s message of love and peace be with us all.

Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Young

Notes:

Holy Trinity Christmas Nativity Pageant:
Join us on the evening of Thursday, December 19th for our school Christmas program. This year will feature a students’ chorus, play presented by our junior high, and a finale by our PreKindergarten classes. Students need to be at the Parish Hall by 530--actors know what to wear, all other students Sunday best.

Service Hour Opportunity:
Our marketing team needs some data inputters. If you can spare two hours at
home to input alumni names from our school yearbooks into Little Green Light, it would be enormously helpful. Contact Sharon Spanos for more information: 455-4076

Lunchroom Supervision:
Kendra Cooper is managing the scheduling for parents or grandparents who can
help for 1.5 hours (both lunch periods) or for a single shift in the cafeteria. This is a super easy way to get service hours--opening milk cartons, helping keep noise levels to a dull roar, and fascinating conversation with students! Please reach out to her This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to help.

Children’s Savings Accounts:
Banking Friday in the Cafeteria will continue throughout the school year.

Box Tops:
We would greatly appreciate it if you would download the Box Tops app to your phone – it takes just a couple minutes to login and find Holy Trinity School. Once you do, just scan your grocery receipt after you shop and HTS will automatically earn money from every applicable item on your receipt! Easy Peasy. Thank you for
participating!

Winter Wear:
With the cold weather comes the need to bundle up. Please make sure your student either wears long pants or leggings under shorts or a skirt for girls, or has snow pants to wear when going outside. For some of our older boys who prefer shorts for daily wear, snow pants for those frosty days are needed. That recess movement is important, but so is avoiding frostbite!

Amazon Smile:
An easy way to support HTS when you shop on Amazon is to choose our school as the beneficiary. As with everything, thank you for your continued support and encouragement.

Blizzard Bags:
As we know, the weather is making a sharp turn toward the cold, snowy forecasts that sometimes interrupt our school days. We have been approved by the state to use Blizzard Bags again this year for up to five snow days. Last year we used three of the five with a 97% return rate! This is stellar!!! Teachers are preparing for this contingency. See the notice below for information detailing the program. Hopefully, we will not need more than five.

Inclement Weather:
In the event of inclement weather that makes traveling to school dangerous and school needs to be delayed (2 hour) or cancelled for the day, a notice will be made on WMUR, sent through Parent Alert via RenWeb, and on our school Facebook page.

★ For a delayed opening, there will be no morning EDP and students can begin arriving at school at 9:30 AM. Our school day will begin at 10:00 AM and dismiss at 3:00 PM.
★ For an early release, parents will be notified via Parent Alert text--we do our
best to avoid this contingency, but will cancel afternoon EDP if there is an
afternoon/evening weather concern.
★ For a closure, notices will be on WMUR, FB, and sent via Parent Alert text. In the event of a closure, students must complete Blizzard Bag work and return it to school the next day we are open.

Our focus is on our students, families, and teachers safety.
