The Grapevine Newsletter Vol. 2, 1.15.20

The Grapevine Newsletter 1.15.20

Dear Holy Trinity Families,

I would like to begin with heartfelt thanks to the families who completed the re enrollment process early. This is enormously helpful for us as we go into the budget season. But, beyond the financial aspects of enrollment and registration, it is truly heartwarming and humbling to be able to extend our relationship with you and your children. The faculty and staff at Holy Trinity see each child and family as many parts of our larger Catholic school family and knowing we are forging ahead together is very exciting and wonderful! As I shared last week, we are blessed and so glad to be able to share this time with you and your children. The investment you have put forth into sharing your children with HTS is well worth it! We are extending our discounted enrollment for current families to encourage additional families to re-enroll. Between now and 1/31 the enrollment fee is reduced to $100, the fee will increase to $200 from 2/1 until 2/29. As of 3/1, the regular $250 fee will apply.

Tonight at 6 PM our auction planning committee will be meeting in the school cafeteria at 6 PM. If you can help in any way with this event, please attend. The annual auction is our premier fundraising event and it takes many hands to make the vision become a reality.

Thank you to those who responded to last week’s short one question survey. The response was unanimous. Although it would be rare to make an independent call for a delay, should we decide to do so, parents will receive a Parent Alert stating: NO DELAY HTS is on a regular day schedule. A side note to remember, if the driving condition at any individual home necessitates a delay, simply notify the school and we will adjust our attendance accordingly. The safety of our families and students are always our first responsibility.

Financial Aid/Tuition Assistance information is included in our notes section this week. Going forward, we are requiring all families who are requesting any tuition assistance to complete the Childrens’ Scholarship Fund application and complete the financial aid application through FACTS. This requirement has been recommended by the diocese and will help us better assist all families who may benefit from the tuition reduction opportunities available. Thank you for taking the time to do both of these things. As the semester closes, Mrs. Corriveau and I will be reviewing service hours and tuition agreements and reaching out with up to date information relating to how many hours have been completed and how many remain. As always, thank you for your support of our school above and beyond clocked hours--we know there are many small tasks that get done for which none are recorded and we are so grateful for these acts of kindness.

Catholic Schools’ Week is 1/27-1/31!

Dear Families,
After a year of serious financial review and an extensive budget audit by the Diocese, our approach to awarding financial aid will be changed to follow a more stringent and specific process to ensure those families who qualify and are eligible for tuition assistance have those needs met. To help transition to a more organized and logical process, all families who want to be considered for a financial aid award MUST complete the FACTS application and have all necessary re-enrollment and registration complete by April 1, 2020. Applications after this date will not have tuition assistance guaranteed.
It is our goal to continue to provide tuition assistance to all who truly need the help.  With this in mind, we are also implementing a maximum award amount of $3500 per family for recipients of the Bingo Scholarship Award Program. Additionally, families who applied and were approved for the Children’s Scholarship Fund received a combined total of $6K+ towards tuition.
For budgeting purposes, the sooner our families reenroll, register, and apply for tuition assistance, the more accurate our calculations will be as we plan for the upcoming school year. Holy Trinity Catholic School exists because of the faith our families hold in the lasting positive benefits of a strong Catholic education and the continuous support of our community.
Please begin the process today to secure access to funding if your family qualifies and to assist us with setting sound fiduciary goals as we move forward.
Thank you for your continued encouragement and support. May God’s grace continue to bless you and your family.
Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Young
