The Grapevine Newsletter 1.29.20

Dear Holy Trinity Families,

Our Catholic Schools Week-long celebration is well under way! Monday we began with Mass with Fr. Dick who reminded us that sometimes we may encounter others who are difficult, but we need to remember we are messengers of Christ and our call is to live our lives in His image and by His example. Yesterday was the feast day of St. Thomas Aquinas. “St. Thomas was not only brilliant, but also very humble and holy. He is one of the greatest and most influential theologians of all time. Even seven centuries after his death, his thought still dominates Catholic teaching. His writings are characterized by the interconnection of faith and reason. He points out that even though many Christian doctrines are impossible to establish by reason, they are not contrary to reason and reach us by revelation. However, he also believed that truths such as the existence of God, His creative power, and His Providence, could in fact be discovered by natural reason. St. Thomas also wrote hymns, commentaries on Scripture, the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostle’s Creed.” (The Catholic Exchange, 2019).

As the patron of all students and universities, we have a great example of service to follow when we look to St. Thomas Aquinas. It is this call to service that brings our teachers and staff to HTS every day, it is this call to service that blesses us with Fr. Marc and his prayers, it is this call to service that brings us our parents and families
who work tirelessly to fundraise, work on school events, drive our athletes to sports events, oversee programs like skiing Golf Tournament, Boo Bash, and the Auction. It is this call to service that brings us together in both duty and spirit. Thank you for being part of this call and for your continuing efforts to help us succeed so our scholars succeed! On the note of service, we need parent help with the auction. Please join our auction committee on 1/30 in the HTS cafeteria to help make this event a great success as we continue to strive toward achieving all our HTS dreams as we celebrate Holy Trinity and Beyond!

There are many responsibilities associated with being principal of HTS. The most important responsibility I carry with me every day is the safety of our students, teachers and staff. As many of you have heard me say, technology is great until it’s not. Our students have a world at their fingertips and as resourceful as this tool can be, there are some out there who use apps to target and pose a threat to our children. The following is an excellent link for parents regarding many social media apps: https://nationalonlinesafety.com/guides. Please take some time to peruse the different sources available.

Below you will find important information regarding our tuition assistance policy, re-enrollment, updated building safety precautions and procedures, and auction committee information. Together we are setting the road for many future successes!

Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Young

IMPORTANT TUITION AND RE-ENROLLMENT NOTICE!

Dear Families,

It is re-enrollment time again! Below are the steps to take for re-enrollment:
1. Log in to https://hts-nh.client.renweb.com/oa/?memberid=13022
2. Follow the on screen directions to complete the re-enrollment process
3. Submit payment for application/enrollment fees
4. Complete Financial Assistance application through FACTS (necessary to be considered for tuition assistance for the 20-21 school year)
5. Complete all other additional forms found the Re-Enrollment List.
6. Submit the completed Re-Enrollment Packet with the enrollment deposit by February 28, 2020.

After a year of serious financial review and an extensive budget audit by the Diocese, our approach to awarding financial aid will be changed to follow a more stringent and specific process to ensure those families who qualify and are eligible for tuition assistance have those needs met. To help transition to a more organized and logical process, all families who want to be considered for a financial aid award MUST complete the FACTS application and have all necessary re-enrollment and registration complete by April 1, 2020. Applications after this date will not have tuition assistance guaranteed.

It is our goal to continue to provide tuition assistance to all who truly need the help. With this in mind, we are also implementing a maximum award amount of $3500 per family for recipients of the Bingo Scholarship  Award Program. Additionally, families who applied and were approved for the Children’s Scholarship Fund received a combined total of $6K+ towards tuition.

For budgeting purposes, the sooner our families reenroll, register, and apply for tuition assistance, the more accurate our calculations will be as we plan for the upcoming school year. Holy Trinity Catholic School exists because of the faith our families hold in the lasting positive benefits of a strong Catholic education and the continuous support of our community.

Please begin the process today to secure access to funding if your family qualifies and to assist us with setting sound fiduciary goals as we move forward.

Thank you for your continued encouragement and support. May God’s grace continue to bless you and your family.
