The Grapevine Newsletter 02.12.20

Dear Holy Trinity Families,

We begin our weekly chat with some heartfelt thanks to a few teachers, parents, and one athletic director who have been working with our athletes--both on the court and in the classroom--to build some essential skills that were on full display this past Saturday. Our basketball team competed in a tournament at Concord Christian and ended the day with a third place win and a snazzy trophy! Thank you Coach Greenwood, Coach McNeil, and Coach Hoey for your time, talent, and dedication to the HTS basketball team!

In another part of the state, our MathCounts team, Elizabeth McKinney and Victoria
Frankauski, participated in their first MathCounts competition at Plymouth State. Although neither student placed, the experience brought MathCounts back to Holy Trinity after a 14 year hiatus thanks to the efforts of Coach Maria Vertetis and our team who gave up lunches and recess for a couple months to prepare. Just as our basketball team is a tradition at our school, we hope to reinstate Math Counts as an academic tradition for years to come. We are hoping to have a team of at least four to go to competition next year.

We WILL have a tuition and service hour restructuring rolling out soon. The changes will be beneficial to our families and make Catholic education more attainable for families who may worry that it is out of their reach. Watch for the official information soon.

The 20th Annual Holy Trinity Maggie Gibbs Memorial Auction with a dynamic forward
looking theme, to Trinity and Beyond! is scheduled for Saturday, April 18. Di Greenwood has generously taken the helm as committee chair and has placed two “giving trees” near each of the most used school entrances: the Main Office and the Cafeteria doors. Please take an envelope and help us get some amazing auction items by purchasing whatever treasure is in the envelope and returning it to the school as we continue to prepare for our flagship event.

Thank you to all who contributed to our information collection surveys over the past few weeks. The data will be analyzed to assist us with improving our instructional practices, strengthening our Catholic Identity, and providing your family with the Catholic education you have entrusted to us for your students.

I also want to take a moment to thank you for helping us make the Blizzard Bag program viable. Our ability to continue to participate relies upon full participation. We have one BB day left, but with the addition of 10 minutes to the school day, we have enough banked instructional time should Mother Nature decide to bless us with more than one more good storm we will meet designated minimums for classroom instruction for all grades (with time to spare). This does not mean we can close earlier for the summer, but in the event of a weather crisis, our students will have their instructional needs met.

Finally for this week, we have some new merch families can purchase. Please consider placing an order to help support HTS.

Remember, be prayerful, be careful, and be kind!
Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Young

2/24-28 February Break--Enjoy! Travel guardian angels will be on call for any of our families who will be adventuring out!

Yearbook News:
Dear HTS Parents:
*Please ignore this email if you have already purchased your parent ad.

It’s hard to believe, but in just a few short months, your student’s time at Holy Trinity School will be a memory. The DEADLINE TO SUBMIT A PARENT AD IS THIS THURSDAY 2/13/2020 at MIDNIGHT. This deadline is from our yearbook company and cannot be extended.

Senior Parent Ad Pages are a tradition among families of graduating students that allow parents to congratulate their student and let them know how much they are cared for. You know your child is amazing-now you can show him or her in this year’s yearbook. You have the opportunity to let them know how proud you are and congratulate them on this milestone in life.

Your page will be printed in the yearbook and remembered forever! By purchasing a space in the back of the book, you can tell your child how special he or she is with your own pictures and in your own words. 100% of the proceeds from the parent ad pages go directly to Holy Trinity School and help to support the yearbook program. Please create a lasting message for your graduate and show your support for Holy Trinity School.

Making your page is simple. Just follow this link:

If you need help, please contact Jostens directly at: 1.800.358.0800 during business hours, and they will be happy to assist you.
