The Grapevine Newsletter 02.19.20

Dear Holy Trinity Families,

As many have noticed, we have some very cool Ring doorbells installed around the school. Not only does this help us keep the school secure, I get an alert whenever there is motion detected at any of the doors. Over the past two weeks I have seen our parish neighbors clearing ice from our cafeteria porch steps at midnight, teachers coming to and from school on Saturday and Sunday, Mr. Greenwood checking on things over the weekends, and Mr. LeClaire when he arrives every morning. We are blessed to havededicated teachers and staff who take time to come to Holy Trinity to ensure the school, classrooms, and lessons are ready for our students. Our students are surrounded by examples of selfless service through each of these wonderful people.

Earlier this year, Mrs. McNeil began a kindness campaign for the school starting with everyone working on being the “I” in kind. In December, we began a schoolwide kindness recognition activity where classes and students could earn either kindness coins in the upper grades and pompoms for the jar in the lower grades. Our Kindergarten and First Grade class filled their kindness jar and will enjoy free dress and complimentary ice cream on Thursday in celebration of a job well done--and keep up the wonderful and kind work!

As you know, and our new families have heard by now, our annual school auction dinner is quickly approaching. This year our theme is “To Trinity and Beyond!” as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of this event. Two “Giving Trees” are set up in the front office reception area and EDP/Cafeteria entrance. If you haven’t yet, please choose an envelope and help us with obtaining auction items. This is our flagship event and every bit of help is needed and greatly appreciated. Finally for this week, we have some new merch families can purchase. Please consider placing an order to help support HTS.

We now have Spirit Gear available to order. Students may wear Spirit Gear on Tuesdays and Fridays. Join us in wearing our Crusader pride!

For the past few weeks, we have had our registration open. It is also important to complete any financial aid applications at this time. All families who would like to be considered for tuition assistance MUST complete the FACTS application and apply to the Children’s Scholarship Fund (K-2). We will be hosting an informational meeting as part of our Spring Showcase and Open House on Thursday March, 12. If you know of anyone who is considering a school change or if you have any questions about tuition assistance opportunities, please attend.

As we continue our preparations for next year, we are considering some classroom reconfigurations to best accommodate student learning and teacher efficacy. There is ample research available regarding looping of students and best practices supporting students in a viable and successful environment, experiences we know our parents expect. Stay tuned!

Our school lunch prices will be increasing by $.85 from $2.90 to $3.75 for regular lunches effective March 2. The change in price will not affect either reduced prices or free lunch qualifications. If you have an outstanding balance for lunch, please send payment to the school ASAP so we can help the SAU continue to provide our school with nutritious lunches for our students. Remember, be prayerful, be careful, and be kind!

Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Young
