The Grapevine Newsletter 03.11.20

Dear Holy Trinity Families,

The past two days have really set the stage for a beautiful spring! I checked my flower beds and saw some first shoots of daffodils peaking up--soon the lilacs, lilies, and roses will begin to bud and blossom. Although during the spring we are observing Lent, our most solemn and reflective church season, the emerging flowers are a blessed reminder of the hope and salvation awaiting us through Christ’s death and resurrection. With God’s grace, all is made new again, in His image and according to his will. How truly blessed we are to be members of a faithful community committed to sharing Christ’s word and example through service!

Speaking of service, our two flagship fundraising events are in full swing preparation as we approach our 20th Anniversary Auction on April 18th ($20 per person, dinner included) and 8th Annual Golf Tournament (flyer included below). Our event coordinators, Di Greenwood for the auction and Tammy Roberge, for the golf tournament are always ready to accept help and volunteers to assist. These events provide substantial funding for the school that helps us provide the rigorous, faithful, and Catholic education you expect. If you can help with the tournament, please contact Tammy Roberge at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The golf committee meets weekly, Tuesday at 8:15 at Wayfarer and anyone who would like to join this dynamic and creative group are welcome to do so. Likewise, anyone who is interested in assisting with the auction can contact Di Greenwood at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Without our parent support and participation, these events wouldn’t be able to happen. Thank you for all you do to support HTS and its students!

Throughout the previous week I have been keeping careful watch of the rapidly changing dynamics of the COVID-19 virus and communicating with other principals across the country as many schools consider best next-steps in relationship to this new illness. As this situation continues to develop, we will be updating information to be sure we are responding appropriately and accurately. The most common sense approach for staying healthy is frequent and rigorous handwashing (suds up long enough to sing the alphabet), coughing or sneezing into a tissue or the crook of the arm if none is available, frequent use of hand sanitizer, and cleaning shared surfaces (tables, desks, doorknobs, etc) with disinfectant. If you or your child begins to exhibit symptoms, please see your doctor immediately. We are also in need of Lysol spray to help with our sanitizing efforts.

Tomorrow evening we will be hosting a Student Showcase, Open House and Family Pot Luck from 5:30-7 PM in the parish hall. Please invite prospective families to join us and experience the community we share at Holy Trinity! Tours of the school will be available for any families who may be considering joining HTS!

Included is also the new tuition schedule and agreement as expected. Please be sure to return the intent to return by April 9 to avoid penalty and ensure your child’s place next year. A paper copy is also being sent home. By streamlining the tuition prices, we have been able to make the monetary demand less so for our families. Thank you for your continued encouragement and support! Remember, be prayerful, be careful, and be kind!

Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Young
